Yes, team PPG certainly keeps themselves busy. But what’s this team of go-getters like in their downtime? What puts a fire in their belly when they’re not matching candidates with their dream role?
Who are PPG?
Take a look into the personalities of the team behind the brand. Learn a little and connect a lot as we share a list of some of PPG’S Favourite Things.
Favourite Artists
You can discover a lot about a person by the type of music they listen to. Which PPG team member style aligns with your musical taste buds?
Dat: Daft Punk
Erika: The Weekend
Nyree: Justin Bieber
Neva: Missy Higgins
Alicia: Salvador Dali 😉 Musical wise – Jim Well-Tempered (classical piano covers)
Roland: I can’t choose just one. PJ Morton, D’Angelo, Frank Ocean, Coldplay, Frank Sinatra, Ray Charles, Sam Cooke. Just to name a few.
Favourite Restaurants
Being a team of foodies, you had to know this would be the top of our list!
Check out the team’s top restaurant recommendations in Melbourne.
Dat: I can’t choose just one favourite restaurant so, I’ll give you two! I love to go to Old Kingdom, especially for their Peking duck. Another great place is Alimentari, as they have a great seasonal menu to offer!
Nyree: I’m a big fan of Higher Ground. I love the industrial look and the building. It has cool vibes to it and delivers a great brunch.
Neva: Being new to Melbourne, I’ve loved exploring different restaurants. Movida has won my heart over (for now). I reckon you can’t go wrong with a good tapas menu.
Erika: Supernormal. This is a new favourite of mine after a recent experience there to celebrate my 1st year at PPG. It has instantly reached number 1 on my list, especially their lobster roll!
Alicia: Such a tough one! There are a few places around, like Meatball and Wine bar that I really enjoy but at the end of the day, I can’t go past a really good Thai place. My local ‘Paradise Thai II ‘ is nothing fancy but it’s always fresh and delicious!
Roland: So tough to choose just one, but it has to be Vaporetto Bar and Eatery in Hawthorn. It’s classic Italian done right. Not pretentious or overpriced and after 20+ times my wife and I have been there, their service has always been excellent, and the vibe is spot on!
Favourite Movie
What’s a get-to-know-you segment without a movie reference? From Cult Classics to the lesser-known, here are the movies that team PPG knows and loves.
Dat: Lord of the Rings Trilogy
An epic story of a fantasy world created by J.R.R Tolkien. It is a movie about the journey to save the world. With lots of actions and creatively designed beasts and worlds. If you’re into fantasy movies this is 100% a movie to watch.
Nyree: Law Abiding Citizen
It is a clever movie and very captivating. It’s sad, heartbreaking, and intense. It’s about a guy who lost his family to violent criminals and wants to get justice for them as he wasn’t able to get it through the law. So her took it upon himself and in the end, he pays the price.
Neva: Love actually
This move will tickle your heart nerve. It is a Christmas movie with 6 different stories that all find their version of love during the holiday time. “Don’t you just love “love”?” There will be ups and downs, laughs. You will just feel like you’re getting one big hug.
Erika: Love, Rosie
It’s a great love story about two friends falling in love with each other, but with time not on their side. Heartwarming and it just shows you how the love of your life can be right in front of you. Makes you believe in love.
Alicia: Old school action
I don’t have just one favourite movie that comes to mind but I love old school action movies. Bruce Willis, anything Jackie Chan and Arnie back in the day. I like the wit they weave in and actors like Jackie Chan who performed their own stunts wow my mind. On the polar opposite scale, I’m also a sucker for a good animated flick.
Roland: LOLs and Heart
I am really struggling to choose just one. So many different categories to choose from. The Hundred-Foot Journey is just a great story with all the feels! I also love a good laugh at an old Adam Sandler or Will Ferrell movie. Old School Uncut and Happy Gilmore are a good laugh.
Favourite Book

“A Thousand Splendid Suns”
This novel was written in 2007 by an Afghan-American author named Khaled Hosseini. It is set in Afghanistan from the early 1960s to the early 2000s. It is a tale of two generations of characters brought jarringly together by the tragedy of war and infighting lessons of resilience and social change.
“To kill a mocking bird”
A classic modern American Novel written by Harper Lee and loosely based on her childhood experiences growing up in Alabama in the 1930s. The primary themes of To Kill a Mockingbird involve racial injustice and the destruction of innocence. It is one frequently noted as a must-read.
“Jasper Jones”
This book was published in 2009 written by Australian author Craig Silvery. This novel tackles the injustice, racism, and social exclusion that exists in the Australian society. It also tackles growing up, first love, family unity, and a sense of belonging in a community.
“A man’s search for meaning”
A man’s search for meaning is a 1946 book by Viktor Frankl that describes his experiences as a prisoner in Nazi concentration camps during World War II. He goes on to discuss his theory that suggests finding meaning and purpose in life is the key to personal happiness and well-being. The book focuses on love, hope, responsibility, inner freedom, and the beauty to be found in both nature and art. Frankl argues that we cannot avoid suffering but we can choose how to cope with it, find meaning in it, and move forward with renewed purpose.
